June 29 - July 1

29 June 2009
Kennedy asked me to take a picture of her
30 June 2009
These were our matching bandaids that we got after getting our Iron levels checked (which were just fine, woohoo!). Kennedy's face is hilarious
1 July 2009
Kennedy brought the camera to me & asked to have me take a picture of her again (notice the camera case in her hand, that I had her hold for me while I took the pic)
Some of the cute things Kennedy does lately...
Insists on putting her shoes & socks on all by herself (& does an awesome job!)
Constantly singing songs (ABC's - which she actually has been able to sing accurately since she was 22 months; I am a Child of God, Ring a round the Rosy & a couple other kid songs.. she also likes to randomly start singing 'Shake It' by Metro Station)
Acting out & singing the cute scene of the little girl from 'The Sound of Music' singing Goodnight, on any stairs we ever come in contact with
Asking people if they know how to sign things & then showing them the correct way to sign them - so funny!
Constantly talking on one of her many cell phones. Telling whoever she's talking to what she's doing (playing with babies, reading a book, going outside, etc..) She loves to have me talk to the people on her phone (Nana, Grandpa, Aunt TT, Aunt Rachael, Jordi, Grandma Jani, Daddy & so many more)
Asking me who I was talking to when I get off the phone
Touching my tummy & saying 'that's the baby in there' 'It's a boy or a girl' (I hope so, lol). saying 'I can kiss it?' & kissing my belly (this is one of my favorite things.. I love how much she already adores this little baby)

Hypnosis & other Relay for Life FUN!

26 June 2009
Kennedy had so much fun playing with & following around this cute little 11 month old baby, Kiora! (I love that name!) She is the daughter of Lareen Bliss, who, after Kodi, sang at the Relay for Life (I'm going to see if she minds me posting some of the songs I recorded of her singing). She has an amazing voice & some fun songs that she wrote.

When there wasn't some sort of entertainment on stage going on, there was upbeat music playing out of speakers that were set up all around the track, for people to listen to as they walked.

Kennedy dancing to 'Thriller' (Michael Jackson)

Kennedy dancing to some random upbeat song

Here are portions of the hilarious Hypnosis show that was part of the entertainment for the 'Relay for Life' Cancer Walk, in Delta...
[Excuse all the obnoxious laughter & people running in front of the camera]
[you might need to turn the volume up pretty high on some of these videos. The sound quality is pretty poor]

The middle of Kodi & a bunch of other people going under hypnosis

Trying to 'cool off'

Every time the hypnotist said 'midnight madness' everyone was supposed to be smelling the most amazing, attractive, smell they had ever smelled. Every time he made this 'Pfft' (farting noise) sound, everyone was supposed to be smelling a very potent 'fart' type smell.

These were the 'Body Builders' struttin' their stuff (I couldn't help laughing every time Kodi flexed his butt; especially since it wasn't as visible as I'm sure he would have liked, with his baggy sweat pants on).. All the body builders 'won' a trip to Hawaii for showing off their mad skillz... You're in for a very special 'treat', watching the amazing Hula dancers ;)

Fishing...

This is a short & somewhat jumbled video, but quite funny.. Kodi was scared of this 'snake' that the hypnotist was trying to get someone to hold & comfort (apparently this was a lonely snake needing some love?) Sorry, all you can see is Kodi nervously shaking his leg & rubbing his fingers together (& the nervous look on his face is priceless)

Here is Kodi, again, frightened of this 'snake' (a fake stuffed toy, that appeared real to those hypnotized) while a lady (who was also hypnotized) strutted her stuff, modeling the snake

The hypnotist had a 'voodoo doll'.. Anything he did to the doll, everyone hypnotized would feel or mimic the action.

In this video, the hypnotist explained that their shoe was a phone & they would be getting a phone call from their favorite celebrity, but that for some reason, the phone wasn't working properly, & no matter how hard they tried, they wouldn't be able to answer it (very frustrating I'm sure ;).. Kodi was very upset to be missing a call from Tiger Woods, who was going to help him with his golf swing I guess, lol. As you can hear, I thought this part of the hypnosis was quite hilarious, especially when somone said Napolean Dynamite was trying to call them. & I thought it to be rather awesome that someone else was expecting a call from Jason Statham (he's dreamy)

This was the end of the hypnosis, while he was bringing them out of it [notice about a 3rd of the way through this video, the kid next to Kodi (in the red shirt) got back into his chair.. he fell flat on his face in the grass a little bit before this, (while the hypnotist was having them relax,) which was quite hilarious (& just a little sad ;)]

Fun Pics

9 March 2009
These are some pics Kodi & I took while walking around the Daybreak Lake. I was somewhere around 5 weeks pregnant in these pics. Obviously, that early on, its not really noticeable, but just a tidbit of info :)

Relay for Life

26 June 2009
Kodi was asked to sing at the 'Relay for Life' Cancer Walk in Delta, Utah (my hometown) last Friday. He sang 5 songs, & it was an AWESOME performance.
The order of these songs are backwards from what Kodi played them.. I was thinking Blogger would upload the videos in the same order it uploads photos, (in reverse order) but I guess not.
(Pardon all the noises & talking in the background)

Vindicated (Dashboard Confessional)

Golden Slumbers (The Beatles)

Tiger Lily (Matchbook Romance)

Play Me (Neil Diamond)

Better Days (Goo Goo Dolls)

Father's Day

21 June 2009
This was the 3rd year for Kodi to be recognized as a Daddy on Father's Day!
Just some of the things that make Kodi such a great Daddy...
He gives such good Daddy Kisses & Hugs
He sings fun songs for Kennedy to dance to
He's the best at ring a round the rosy
He's the best cuddler when Kennedy is tired
He tells Kennedy about the sports he's interested in & tries to get her involved (so cute)
He does puzzles for Kennedy
He makes Kennedy laugh all the time
& best of all, he shows Kennedy how much he loves her everyday, just by doing simple things, like going on a walk with her & reading books to her

Kodi put together a Spiderman puzzle for Kennedy (she 'helped' a little)

Kennedy wanted to take a picture of Daddy. She did a great job (with just a little help holding the camera)
Part of my 'gift' to Kodi for Father's day was for him to be able to watch the U.S. Open ALL DAY, without one peep out of me about how boring watching golf on TV is.
This is a pic of Sergio Garcia during the U.S. Open (kind of random that I took a pic while he was playing, since he's not one of Kodi's favorites)
Lately, when I take pictures (which is all the time), Kennedy says 'take a picture of me Mommy!'
Don't you just love her outfit? Stripped down to nothing but a diaper, after church
19 weeks & 5 days pregnant

The other part of Kodi's Father's Day 'gift' was going to FYE & picking out some movies & then buying lots of Candy at the dollar store to snack on while watching the movies.
The movies Kodi chose were
'Bad Company' (with Anthony Hopkins & Chris Rock), I absolutely LOVE this movie & recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good action/comedy.
'The Count of Monte Cristo' (with James Caviezel & Guy Pearce), one of Kodi's all time favorites, & also a must see.
'Hard Ball' (with Keanu Reeves & Diane Lane), an amazing drama/comedy - such a great role for Keanu Reeves!
& 'Dumb & Dumber' (with Jim Carrey & Jeff Daniels), also one of Kodi's all time favorites. (we couldn't figure out why he didn't already own it.. weird, especially since he quotes it almost every day)

Kennedy SO tired

25 June 2009
One of Kennedy's requests lately has been her pulling out a kitchen chair to sit on & asking for someone to brush her hair (just brush it though, heaven forbid we make it look cute with pony tails & doo dads). Today, Grandpa offered to brush her hair. After about 5 minutes of Grandpa brushing her hair, this was the cute sight I looked over to see...

Grandpas are the BEST!
also, I have to add how proud of myself I am that I actually got these pics up within an hour of taking them!! Woohoo!

Reminder of 'skinnyness'

22 February 2009
In trying to say goodbye to dwelling on my 'fat' body, I thought it might help for me to post some pics of my 'skinny' body that I worked so hard for. Maybe if I look at this when I start to even think about dwelling on negatives, I can remember that it IS possible for me to get down to my pre baby weight, again, after this baby.
My mom took these pics one day (February 22) while we were in Delta. It was fun to have a mini 'photo shoot' & although they aren't professional, I'd say we did a pretty good job :)

A need to whine & let go..

Ok, so before you keep reading, let me just warn you by saying this is a bit of a drag of a blog..
I've been having a difficult time dealing with my 'fat' pregnant body the last couple weeks.. Some might say 'oh thats how everyone feels'.. Maybe so, but I decided that, to help get those feelings off my chest, I would explain why it is so hard for me being 'fat' right now.
First, let me say, that when I was pregnant with Kennedy, I was soo excited to be getting a big pregnant belly (& everything that comes along with it), & tried hard to make sure I was eating well for my little baby & I... & IT WORKED!!! I gained 60+ lbs while pregnant with kennedy (went from 120 lbs, to 180+ lbs at delivery). It took me quite a while to get most of my 'baby fat' off. I finally got back about down to a somewhat comfortable weight when Kennedy was 18 months old (September 2008).
September was not only a month to remember being (mostly) 'baby fat' free.. September is when pregnancy #2 began. As I mentioned in a previous blog, I miscarried preg #2 at about 12 weeks. Somehow, I managed to have already gained just under 15 lbs when I miscarried. As anyone can imagine (especially any who has also experienced something similar), I had officially hit my low when this happened.. Sunk into a deep depression & didn't know how to be 'happy' for quite some time. Having that extra baby fat, without a cute little baby, sure didn't make things easier.
Luckily, I had the support of so many loving family members (Kodi, mom, Tiff, Jani, Rachael, & so many others...) & the love of my sweet little Kennedy! Kennedy definitely made those gloomy days brighter. A few weeks after I miscarried & was given the 'ok' to get back to normal physical activity. I decided I needed an attitude adjustment. I decided it might help me feel a little better if I got back into better physical shape. I was SERIOUS about this. I kicked it into high gear. I saw my goal & there was no stopping me getting there. I ran 4 - 5 miles on the treadmill 4 days a week. Did 30 min of Wii fit boxing & hula hooping any day I hadn't taken to the treadmill & on some days that I had. I got back to my usual routine of drinking 10+ glasses of water a day, & started eating healthy all week, with the exception of 'treats' 1 or 2 days a week. I ended up losing 20 lbs in 6 - 8 weeks & was back at my Pre - Kennedy baby weight! I felt amazing, & although I couldn't bring back the loss of pregnancy #2, it helped my overall feelings for myself & my outlook on life.
2 months later, I found out I was now expecting another baby (pregnancy #3). This was WONDERFUL news & I am so happy to be giving Kennedy a sibling (which she desperately wants & needs). But, I still admit, I miss my skinny body that seemed short lived. This pregnancy has been so different than when I was pregnant with Kennedy. I have been SOO emotional & have had no appetite whatsoever. On days that I've been having a 'melt down', I've dwelled a bit on my 'fat' body. So, this is my final goodbye to those 'fat' body dwellings. There is no need for such sillyness & I just need to be greatful for all the positive things in my life. Wish me luck!
