Saturdays are more fun

6 February 2010
Kennedy & Daddy started the day by visiting the library (A.K.A. the video store- Kodi & Kennedy love checking books out at the library, but 90 percent of what they check out are movies, which is perfectly fine with this cheaper than cheap wife/mom =-)
A trip to the library for them meant a little extra shuteye for Amelie & myself - YAY! (I'm pretty lacking in the sleep department lately - Thank you very much insomnia!)
This is what followed when they returned from the library...
This girl knows how to play with cars & trains in 'style'

Kennedy's ensemble makes me think of The Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland... (maybe Kennedy was trying to get the look of one of those hoop skirts? She put one of her dance outfits on that is pretty poofy, then added this dress that was mine as a wee one [which stays in the dress up, because well, I won't have my child stuck in the 90's - but if she wants to play dress up with my old clothes, go for it!]

Later, Kennedy & I went swimming and were joined by my mom, my cousin colin, and Little Amelie. It was Amelie's first swimming experience. She seemed to like (or at least put up with) it. Pictures of that to come - I didn't have my camera, but my mom took a couple with hers [let's hope I get on top of things enough to actually get those pics uploaded]

In the evening Kodi had a little 'date' with DJ to the Jazz game [I've been giving Kodi crap about it - he & DJ seem to have a little 'bromance' goin on]
While Kodi was on his 'date' Colin, My mom, & myself played FRIENDS trivia & Kennedy had some fun painting some Picaso like pictures of Tinkerbell (possibly photos to come...?)
Sad as it is, this was a pretty eventful day for us. Kennedy especially enjoyed a 'full' day. We're pretty boring around here as you can see -slowly working on that =-)

Don't let me forget the 'best' part of the day (loads of sarcasm)... My mountains of homework, oh joy! - staying up til 2 am, which also meant sleeping in & missing sacrament meeting. Oops

way overdue

It's been 2 months since my last 'post'.. which is definitely too long! I'm finding it near impossible to find time to do normal things, such as -shower, exercise, breathe, & so on- leaving blogging far far behind in the dust of 'things that 'NEED' to be done... I'm taking these brief few moments to 'update' just a little..
I have no idea where 2009 went or where I was during it... I have thousands of pictures to prove that Kennedy (& Amelie for a 2 whole months) existed in the big '09' but haven't quite gotten around to posting them yet.. They are all sitting on CDs & drives...Someday soon I will figure out a better system for taking, saving, & posting pics ;) Until then, I'm WAAAAAY behind.
Some of our happenings the past couple of months....
*Kodi started going to the University of Utah in August of 09 (something he's been waiting almost his whole life for)
*Cute little Amelie Feliz Torgerson was born November 8, 2009 - we absolutely adore having this little angel in our lives. Kennedy is such a good big sister & can't wait to teach her how to play with babies, be a princess, & how to be a 'big girl!'
*I Started going to Salt Lake Community College again January 11, 2010 (haven't attended since summer of '08')
*Kennedy is a 'big girl' now - & so excited to finally be wearing 'big girl panties' - That's right, my little baby is POTTY TRAINED, & I couldn't be more happy, scared, & overwhelmed ;-)
*I'm learning to accept my 'mom bod' (mostly) & stop comparing myself to every other 'utah skinny mom' that needs to be slapped. (you know who I'm talking about - any woman that can fit into her pre prego jeans, a few measly months after having a baby).
*I attempted snowboarding for the first time in my life & now have a love/hate relationship with that particular 'sport'
*Kennedy started taking dance lessons January 21, 2010
I know theres many more things that have happened, and are happening, but its time for Ms. Mom to feed sweet Amelie & attempt to get some much needed zzz's

Thanksgiving 2009

For the last couple of years, my immediate family has gathered together for Thanksgiving, at my sister, Rachael's, ward building. My tiny apartment, & Rachael's house are both, just too small for Thanksgiving dinner. Rachael's ward building works out really nice for our family.
Kennedy, Jordi, & Domanik have fun running around while we're setting up & cleaning up (dont worry.. all of Thanksgiving dinner, & running around, happens in the gym ;).
This year, with Amelie still so tiny, we decided it would be best to keep her away from any large crowd of people, to keep her healthy. Especially with so many strange illnesses going around.. Therefore, Kodi went to his family's Thanksgiving get together, (quite the crowd ;) solo, & I had a small thanksgiving celebration, with my siblings & parents....

This was the first time my brother, Marshall, had seen Amelie. Just after Amelie was born, he had a cold, & was kind enough to not share it with us =)
Thanksgiving day, was a good day for Amelie to meet her Uncle Marshall (healthy again =)
Amelie & Uncle Marshall (Sigh.. love this pic)
Kennedy played pretend, with play kitchen food & accessories, by herself, til Jordi & Domanik arrived
She has such an amazing imagination.
I'm absolutely in love with this precious princess, & all of her many stories & ways of make believing.
Amelie & Jenika (Marshall's wonderful Girlfriend. We love her =)

Kennedy was trying to get Zaven to laugh, & play with her
Domanik & Jordin were very excited to see Amelie..
Jordi is so cute with babies. & is so gentle & careful with them. She's had lots of practice, with Kennedy as a baby; lots of other cousins as babies, her baby brother Zaven, & now, with little Amelie.

Domanik, is also really good with babies (he's still a boy though, & can only be so gentle for so long ;)
Jordi, with Amelie, & Domanik, with cute, chunky, Zaven
cute Amelie, cross eyed
My brother, Andrew, & Domanik
My sister, Rachael - Her husband, Thad - & their cute baby, Zaven (5 & 1/2 months old)
My brother, Richard
My Dad, Marshall Sr. (apparently this picture was a surprise?)
Jordi & Kennedy pretending together. I'm not sure which one is more bossy, when it comes to pretend play. So cute, to listen to them talk about how to play a certain way
Stylin'
CUTE!
Uncle Andrew & Uncle Marshall, playing with the kids
They were having so much fun being lifted by their uncles
Domanik must have had enough = /
seriously love these boys
Haha.. Rachael - naughty, naughty
(Just kidding.. she was finishing off the Sparkling apple cider, & I told her to chug it, for this 'wonderful' pic)
Happy Thanksgiving! - love, Amelie
She looks so short in most pics, cause she curls her legs up to her tummy
My cousin, Beth, & her fiance (unofficially, I believe) Carlos, stopped by my apartment, for a little visit, later in the afternoon, on Thanksgiving.
Carlos & Beth
(He was so scared to hold Amelie. Afraid she'd break or something. funny how a lot of guys are like that, before they have their own... I think I heard Beth say that Carlos wants 6 kids ;)
Beth, My mom - Carol, & Amelie
(& the corner of my dad's head. haha)
had to take a pic of Carlos taking a pic =)
(this is also, somehow, the only pic I got of Kodi - hiding in the background)

1 week & 1 day later...

It's amazing how fast time flies, when you're no longer pregnant.. & would like time to slow down.
It's already been 8 days since precious little Amelie came into this world.
Before I know it, Kennedy will be showing Amelie how to have tea parties & play dress-up together.
Kennedy is such a good big sister. She helps Mommy with Amelie, all day. Kennedy loves to hold Amelie's hands, so she won't 'be scared' while I change her tiny little diapers. She makes sure Amelie's hats don't cover her face. She loves to hold Amelie 'all by herself' (with the help of a boppy pillow & mommy close by).
I couldn't ask for 2 sweeter little princesses =)
