5 - 9 February 2009

I'm getting better about blogging within a week of when something actually happened. I always feel like I have so much to blog about, but for some reason I have a hard time putting words down by themselves & so I like to take photos to help me out a little with what's been going on in my life.
5 February early evening - waiting for Kodi & Colin to get back with Travis from the airport
Kennedy was having a good time putting lots of washcloths on her Little Mermaid Doll (ariel) to help her 'keep warm.' By the time she was done, she had placed over 10 washcloths on top of Ariel. I guess Ariel must have been really cold after swimming in the sea with Eric or something?

5 February Late at night - while the guys rocked out on guitar
For Christmas, My Grandma crocheted a couple doll dresses for Kennedy. For some reason, Kennedy believes her dolls need to be naked most of the time & so they don't get to enjoy their beautiful dresses as much as I myself would like. Sure enough though, Kennedy finds many other uses for her doll dresses. Here, you will see Kennedy sporting a hip new style called the 'dress hat', usually worn for special occaisons since it's a little 'dressier' than most hats.

It can also be worn as an extra sleeve layer apparently. Who knew you could be so creative with a dress & still make it look good?

Kennedy asks every day if we can go swimming. I like to swim, but it's kind of a hassle in the winter, so we don't go as much as I or Kennedy would like. However, we do go atleast once a week. Kennedy loves her new floaty suit! She almost has the hang of swimming by herself with her floaty suit on. She's still pretty cautious about it though, so she mostly just wants me to hold her hands while she kicks.
6 February Morning - while the guys were snowboarding

She was super excited to finally go swimming, after it took me forever to get ready & feed us both (I know what you're thinking, You shouldn't swim for atleast an hour after eating, psh, hour, ten minutes, whatever)

When we got back to our apartment after swimming, Kennedy was in a Signing Time mood. She insisted on sitting in her carseat while she watched it! (Kodi took the carseat out that morning so He, Colin, & Travis would have room to take all their snowboards & gear snowboarding)

While we all went to Wise Guys, Kennedy played with Grandpa Kent & Great Grandma Torgerson. She always has so much fun with them! Kent was trying to take a picture of Kennedy with his cell phone & Kennedy was super cheeser posing! She kept getting really close so it was hard to get a good pic.
6 February Late at night - picking up Kennedy from Great Grandma Torg's

I'm not sure what noise they were making, but they sure are cute with their matching O shaped mouths!
Kennedy kept climbing on the coffee table & I would remind her that she should get off so she didn't get hurt. This blank stare is her thinking over what mommy kept telling her.

The people at Q4U gave this cute blue hippo to Kennedy as She, Kent, & Great Gma Torg were leaving after eating there.

We were all pretty bummed about Travis leaving , so we didn't have a whole lot of energy to do more than just sit around watching movies.

T - Time

February 5 - 9, 2009
We were lucky enough to have Kodi's cousin, Travis come visit us from Virginia this past weekend. Hopefully Travis had as good of a time as we did!
Travis flew in to SLC, UT Thursday night (February 5).
Didn't do anything too extreme Thursday night, but we definately had some fun! Colin, Kennedy, & I had a great time listening to Kodi & Travis Sing & Play music on the guitar! I especially enjoyed when Travis played 'Bubbly Toes' by Jack Johnson, while Kodi sung along! What a pair!
Kodi had to work Friday til 2 so Travis, Colin, Kennedy & I hung out at our apartment in the morning, just taken it easy. Around noon we headed to Jani & Tiff's house to hang out. I picked Kodi up from work at 2 & we headed back to Jani & Tiff's to spend more time with Travis.

Kennedy was weary of Travis at first (as she is with all new people), & she just kept her head down & wouldn't look at him. By Friday morning, Travis & Kennedy were having a good time, playing together with her hair clippies (so random!) A couple times, while Travis was here, we got Kennedy to call him 'Uncy T' & it was so cute! Definately started a special friendship there!

Unfortunately, these are the only pics I got while Travis was out here. Guess that just means he'll have to come out again real soon!

Friday Night, Kodi & I had a Valentine's Dinner Party to go to & felt bad about ditching out on everybody, but it sounded like they all had a good time, so that was good to hear.
Colin, Kodi, & Travis went snowboarding Saturday from 10 - 4 & from what they were telling me when they got back, it was a blast! Apparently Colin is a natural snowboarder & dare devil!
Saturday Night, Kodi, Travis, Myself, Colin, Tiff, Enoc, Matt & Kristen (Tiff's friends), all went to 'Wise Guys Comedy Club'. It was fun, but not nearly as funny as other times I've been. One of my favorite comedians there is Bengt Washburn, & he was the headliner that night &we were all excited to see him. I was pretty dissapointed with his routine & don't know if I can really say I like him as much anymore. Poundcake is still up there #1 for sure, lol (probably don't know who I'm talking about, unless you've seen him.)
After the Comedy Club, Tiff & Travis went to hang out with some of Tiff's friends & Kodi, Colin, & I picked Kennedy up from Grandpa Kent's house. She had a great time with Grandpa Kent & Great Grandma Torg, but I'll get more into that in another post!
Sunday, after church, we all hung out at Jani & Tiff's place again. We chatted a lot, ate yummy spaghetti, & played 'apples to apples'. Towards the end of the night, we convinced Travis to do some 'readings'. He's really good at Hypnosis & did readings for Myself, Kodi, Colin, Enoc, & Jani (he had done a little with Tiff & Enoc way earlier in the day). He really helped me out with some things & I'm so grateful. Thanks Trav!

New Years Day!

1 January 2009
A New Year, A New Day!
Kennedy started the New Year off by playing in her crib with her new Curious George monkey.
She was having so much fun tickling him!
What a cute monkey!

We went to Target to look for sleds again (which they of course didn't have!)
While we were there, Kennedy had a fun time playing with these stylish hats!

Where'd she go?

She's magic! She made her binky disappear!

Kennedy had lots of energy for the new year! (Kind of a long video, but there's some way cute moments!)

Other Camera

Okay, so this is kind of a long/random post, but I just couldn't skip all these fun happenings!
Explanation: We have 2 cameras. One is our 'diaper bag' camera (a wonderful NIKON camera) which is most used. The other is our 'at home' camera (a Canon camera) which doesn't get used nearly as much, since we usually just pull the NIKON out of the diaper bag when we are home. All of these photos are from the Canon...
24 November 2008
I absolutely love this Lady Bug outfit. I already bought Kennedy a cute horse costume for Halloween, but we had this cute LadyBug Costume/outfit that was a hand me down from my sister's kids & I really wanted to get some use out of it, so I started using it as a bundle up layer for going outside! It worked really well & kept Kennedy really warm!
I bought this bike trailer used off of Craigslist at the end of the summer & Kennedy really enjoys riding in it. Unfortunately, we didn't use it much before it was cold. It didn't help that it's a pain in the butt to carry it off of our deck, through our apartment, & down the stairs & then set it up & hook it up to the bike! But, when we do use it, it's a real treat for Kennedy!

4 December 2008
I watch my sister's 4 year old twins, Jordin & Domanik atleast once a month if not more & am always trying to find fun things for them to do outside of our tiny apartment. It was kinda cold, but we all bundled up warm & headed outside to ride bikes! Theyhad such a blast riding in the bike trailer & each took a turn riding the bike with my help!

My mom was at our house while I watched them &
helped out a lot! She's such a good Nana! This is one of my favorite photos of Kennedy. I can't really explain why.

November 24 2008
So pretty in her highchair!

Such a silly, just like Daddy!

3 December 2008
Kennedy LOVES spaghetti!

She's such a sweety & is always trying to share her food! (even if mom doesn't really want any)

30 November 2008
Kennedy is such a goof like Kodi, & I love it! Kennedy & Kodi always make life exciting!

2 December 2008
Kennedy is our dress up Queen! She definately has some girlyness to her!

4 December 2008
Being so cute & silly riding her horse!

LOVE IT!

New Years Eve!

31 December 2008
We celebrated New Years Eve at home this year, with Colin & DJ!
We hung out together & had a 'Meet The' night (watching 'Meet The Parents' & 'Meet The Fockers'!)
Kennedy, of course, wanted to start the New Year off right, by reading lots of books with Daddy!
Looks as though DJ & Colin were in deep thought watching our 'Meet The' movies!?

Kodi & I - 5 minutes before the New Year

Can these goof balls ever be serious? Haha!

Kennedy, with one of her best buddies, DJ. She adores him!

Wow! That's all I can say.

Are Kodi & DJ in the same place Colin is? Apparently Colin didn't get the memo on making rediculously weird faces?
All in all, Kennedy & I had a Blast New Years Eve, with these boys!

Sledding!

29 December 2008
After searching in every store in town for sleds, we finally gave up, & borrowed my sister's, & went sledding the Monday after Christmas for family night.
We went to the big Hill off of 5400 S & 3200 W, which is one of the best sledding hills around!
We had such a blast! Even Kennedy had so much fun! She kept saying 'my turn, my turn!'

Here Kennedy & I are sledding down one of the little hills. I love this photo. I think it's really cool how we are focused on, but everyone else in the photo is blurry.

Colin & Kodi

Colin thought it would be fun to sled for a little bit with just his shorts & short sleeve shirt on. As you can see, he paid the price! His arm was major snowburned!

The first video is of Kennedy & I sledding down one of the little hills.
The second video is of Kodi going off one of the jumps. His landing is pretty sweet!
The last video is of Colin going off the same jump. His landing was not so sweet, but pretty funny!

Christmas in T-VILLE

After spending Christmas morning in South Jordan, at Grandma Jani 's house, we drove in the snowstorm, back to our apartment in Taylorsville, to open presents with my parents & colin.
Kennedy didn't see what Santa brought her until noon (what a good sport ;)

She was so excited about all the new toys Santa brought!

'It's all for me?'

'Look, Santa brought me a baby!'

What Santa Brought Kennedy: Disney Princesses Chair, Curious George Monkey & Book, Leap Frog Karaoke machine, bounce 'n' go worm, Sesame Street color/sounds toy, Goldilocks Puzzle, Water Baby (not pictured because Kennedy would not let go of it long enough to take a picture) & Lots of Books for our little bookworm!

Nana & Grandpa (My Parents) gave Kennedy a fun Puzzle Matching Sesame Street Book. Kennedy has so much fun playing with it, especially since 'Melmo & Hoey' (Elmo & Zoe) are a big part of the book. Kennedy's latest favorite toys/movies/books are anything to do with 'Melmo & Hoey'!

Colin (my cousin who is Staying with us, which Kennedy adores), gave Kennedy this beautiful child size REAL guitar for Christmas. She loves it & calls it her 'ding ding'.

Kennedy decided this marvelous gift box was more fun to sit in than the chair Santa brought her! Silly kid!

I had so much fun wrapping this present! I used all the little scraps left over from wrapping other presents & taped them all together to wrap it! Kennedy especially liked how easy it was to open!

Kennedy was not very excited about how many presents she opened that had clothes inside! Notice her expression of dissapointment as she opened yet another present with clothing!
And yet, shortly after... she was playing dress up with all her new clothes! Clothes must not be so bad after all?

Kennedy's favorite gift from Kodi & I for Christmas was a bucket of blocks We bought that were really inexpensive! Funny how sometimes the cheapest things are the most played with!

She was so proud of herself! So were we! She can stack up to 7 blocks on top of eachother (this photo only shows 5)!

The dollhouse I regifted to Kennedy for Christmas, that used to be mine, became the ultimate block building platform! Kennedy had so much fun watching colin stack 20 or 30 blocks at a time & then she would quickly knock them over before he could get anymore on top!

Kennedy all worn out from Christmas morning/afternoon! (Pre-nap/Pre-bath). She had something from breakfast at Grandma Jani's still stuck on her face!

Nana gave Kennedy these cute pink Disney Princess pajamas!
They were among the 10 pair she received for Christmas, from Mommy & Daddy, Grandma Jani & Grandpa Scott, & Nana & Grandpa!
She won't be getting cold at night anytime soon!

After Kennedy had a nap, Kodi, Colin, Nana, Kennedy, & I all climbed in the car to visit Great Grandma Torgerson & Grandpa Torgerson!

We then all went to my sister, Rachael's house, to see the rest of my family!
