Water, Water, Everywhere!

10 December 2008
Funny Story:
When Kennedy was born, she loved the water (maybe it has something to do with her being born underwater ;), & just couldn't get enough of it... up until she was about 9 months old... One day, I went to put Kennedy in the bathtub and she screamed & screamed & SCREAMED! So, all worried, I checked the water again (fearful that somehow it had gotten too hot), and it was just fine. Nothing was wrong with the water, she wasn't sick, and I had run out of ideas, so I took her out and thought I would try again the next day. Sure enough she still would not get in the water without screaming. Ever since that day, we've had to coax and plea with Kennedy to even go near any water, and bathtime became a horror!.....
One day, while my aunt & Grandmother were visiting, we decided we would all try to go swimming at our clubhouse & just let Kennedy watch. Everyone got in the water, except for myself & Kennedy (even though we had bathing suits on). Kennedy started calling for Kodi, so, just curious, I handed Kennedy to Kodi in the water, & she got all excited & started giggling! 'Is this the same child?', was what I was thinking. The whole time we were at the pool, she giggled & laughed & had a great time playing with everyone in the water!
Ever since, she has been obsessed with water! Any water, anytime, any place! She is constantly begging me to 'doe wimming' (go swimming) & to let her play in the Kitchen sink! Atleast once a day, I give in & turn the kitchen faucet on & let her play in the water while I make bread or some sort of treat!
It sure is crazy how much she changes from one day to the next!

here mom, you want some water too?

I WILL get that water in my mouth!

CAROUSEL!

December 9, 2008
Every time we go to Southtowne Mall, I try to make it a treat to take Kennedy on the carousel, after she's been so patient shopping! Each time she gets more and more excited when I tell her, 'we're going to ride the horsey now!' She Also gets excited when I let her give the token to the Carousel attendant before we get on!
What a cutie!!!

Temple Square!

December 6, 2008
Every year since Kodi & I have been together (3 years now), we've been sure to go to Temple square to see the lights together at least once in December!
The 1st year we went (2005), we took Jordin & Domanik (my niece & nephew) with us (who were just over a year old at the time.) It was so much fun to see the excitement in their little curious eyes!
The 2nd year (2006), we took Jordin & Domanik again, with my parents & Kennedy came along for the ride in my tummy (I was 5 months along).
The 3rd year (2007), we were so excited to be able to take our precious little Kennedy (who was 8 months old). She was still a little confused at that age, but seemed to enjoy being outside & seeing lots of people & lights!
This year (2008), being the 4th year we've gone together, we took Kennedy (20 months), & DJ (Kodi's best Friend from High School). We went on a Saturday & were planning to ride TRAX. When we got to the TRAX station, I realized I had forgotten my TRAX pass at home, so I dropped DJ & Kodi off with Kennedy to ride without me & headed home to get my pass (we only live like 5 minutes from the TRAX station). By the time I finally got to Temple Square & met up with the three of them it was around 7 pm. (It's nice not to have to find parking downtown, but TRAX certainly takes longer.) It was so crowded that we could barely walk anywhere at all and had to keep excusing ourselves through people.
Even though it was so crowded, we ended up having a great time together, enjoying the Christmas Spirit that is so strong at Temple Square. Kennedy had a fun time walking on all the little cement ledges surrounding the flower gardens & everywhere we walked, she pointed at the lights in amazement!
I wonder what next year will bring?

DJ & Kodi - never a dull moment (or serious face!)

COLIN!

Colin - 15- friendly - loving - good friend & cousin!

In October, we invited my cousin Colin to come live with us for a while... Growing up, he and I were more like siblings than cousins. When My aunt lived in Vegas & was working full time, my mom babysat Colin a lot (and his sister Katelyn), sometimes as long as a month at a time, so we've always been really close.

Since he's been out here, Kennedy has gotten quite attached to him! He's her new 'buddy'! He's such a great help with her, especially when I need a shower badly and he plays with her so I can take one! LOL! Being 15, I'm sure he wouldn't normally choose to play with a toddler all day, but since being out here, he and Kennedy love eachothers company (most of the time ;) )

We absolutely love him to death & are going to miss him like crazy when he moves back home in May!

Kennedy & Colin were being silly rolling around on the floor! Kennedy was telling him something about her nose!?

Thanksgiving Anyone?

Thanksgiving has come and gone already again!
And what a fun filled day it was!
Ok, so I realize this is like a month and a half late, but better late than never, right?
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with lots of places to go & people to see!
Our day started out by going to Grandma Torgerson's (Kodi's Grandma on his Dad's side), where we ate lots of Grandma's delicious food (mmm, especially her delicous rolls and potatoes!) & spent time visiting with Grandma, Kent, Tiff, Enoc, Oliver, Derek, Angelita, Sheldon, & many more of the wonderful Torgerson Bunch!
Before we ate, Kodi & Colin played a little football outside & Kennedy and Mommy had fun Playing in the leaves & swinging on the swings! Every time we go to Grandma Torg's, Kennedy wants to go outside to play on the swings! Grandma's house is so much fun! Kennedy also loves playing with Grandma's big bucket of fun toys!

Next we went to Jani & Scott's (Kodi's mom, and step dad) house and ate more yummy food & had a good time visiting with the Mckean/Morgan/Thomas side. And again, All the boys went outside to play some football ( a tradition I'm sure will continue til Kodi is in a wheelchair!)
After we ate lots of food and said our goodbyes at the Thomas house, we headed to Rachael's (my sister) ward house to meet up with my parents & siblings & siblings spouses/significant others & children for dessert. After some very delicious Dessert, we played 'Bunco' (one of the funnest games ever!) & visited til everyone was tired and ready for bed. The best part for all the little ones, was riding on this little round skateboard type thing while Colin pushed!

The day after Thanksgiving we went to my parent's house in Delta, UT (also known as the edge of the earth, lol!). While in Delta, we had a great time playing 'Puerto Rico', Watching movies, and just hanging out. But the best was on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, when we went to the fair grounds for the annual town christmas get together where there's entertainment, hot chocolate, donuts, & best of all, Santa! Last year, Kennedy didn't really know what was going on with Santa & was just fine. This year, however....

A picture speaks a thousand words!!!
All in all it was a wonderful holiday weekend! We Can't wait til the fun begins again next year!

I love my daddy!

Kennedy & Daddy!

Kennedy and Daddy have become the best of friends. From the moment we found out I was pregnant with Kennedy, Kodi was so excited to PLAY with our little baby! And now he does, all the time! Kennedy adores her Daddy and tries to do everything he does! She loves giving Daddy kisses, wearing his hats, playing video games, and watching basketball with him! It's so much fun to see them play and giggle together!
